2008 Brickyard 400 NASCAR Race

Kylan attended his first Brickyard 400 race in July.  We got there 2 hours early, sat through a 4 hour race due to tire issues, and had a 30 minute walk to and from the car and he loved it!  Jeff Gordon was his favorite driver!

The flyover is always one of the highlights of pre-race activities

The cars make their first appearance on the initial warm-up lap

There was a safe start to the race for all 43 cars

A huge crowd again for the race this year as the cars speed by

Whenever there is a crash, the safety crew is on the scene to make sure everyone is safe and all debris is cleaned up

The Hall of Fame Museum in the infield is a must-see for anyone visiting Indy

The Pagoda houses the media and a scoreboard at the top

There are suites in various areas of the track including these outside Turn 2; you can also see the fans on the mounds of the infield

I couldn't help but notice the sun burn on this fan; I'm sure he felt it the next day

Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon go through Turn 1

This is the view of Jimmy Johnson and Carl Edwards going through Turn 4 on the last lap.  This turn was nearly a mile from our seats but thanks to a wonderful zoom and photo cropping I was able to create this photo.

Kylan made it through 2 hours of pre-race activities and a nearly 4-hour race without getting bored.

Half the fun of attending the Indy races is the people watching; this fan was up almost the entire race cheering for her driver!
