Indy Corn 250 - June 22, 2008

Brian was the Bryant host for the Indy Corn 250 IRL race outside of Des Moines.  His dad was able to join him.  It was strange for Brian to see his first IRL race outside of Indy.  There were only 30,000 fans and a 7/8 mile track.  The race was over in just over 90 minutes!  It was a great time!

Brian and Dave got to meet Tony Kanaan before the race.  Do you think Vin Diesel would play him in the movie?

This picture was taken from the hospitality tent toward the bleachers where we sat

Despite very little passing at last year's inaugural race, Tony and Helio were side by side many of the first few laps

Tony and Helio continue to battle as Dixon and Andretti give chase

The stands were full on a beautiful day

Our seats were in the second row of this picture and several Bryant dealers were sitting behind us

Tony led much of the race but crashed around lap 209.  The safety crew picks up his car and spreads some powder on the track to clean up the spilled fuel

Dan Weldon, Hideki Mutoh, and Marco Andretti race to the end with Weldon holding on to win

AJ Foyt IV finished 5th.  It was interesting to watch them load the cars into the tops of the trailers

His crash was caused by a blown wheel and this is what was left of it
