NDSU @ IUPUI

NDSU is completing its transition to Division I athletics and is playing in the same conference as IUPUI.  The benefit for me is I will get to see them play every year.  The football team is joining the Gateway Conference next year and will play a few nearby schools including Indiana State, about an hour away.  The pictures below were from the Bison game at IUPUI on January 10, 2008.  Fraternity brother Mark Dittmer and I attended the game with about 25 other Bison fans.  They did not play well though and lost 60-46.  In a small world situation, Bison coach, Saul Phillips, bought my sister's house in Fargo when he moved there a couple years ago.  I talked to him briefly after the game and learned he has sold the house now that he's making a couple extra bucks.  I'm still learning how to use this camera and this night I learned I can't take good action shots from a distance inside.

The gym at the Natatorium is very small (seats about 1200) but is pretty nice and every seat is close to the action.  NDSU had a decent turnout for the game.
